Had an event with RGS today at CBD area. They had an amazing race.
Seriously I had nothing but praises for RGS. They aint call RGS for nothing, the school culture, school attitude that has been instill in the girls were really superb. Maybe they are indeed I was told the cream of the crop of RGS so they were of higher standard.
Anyway,I got my 2 goups, group2 and 8 and together we are group 3. Team name = bLA BLA because both of their original groups names were like sooo tongue-twisting. Group teachers were Alan and Priscilia, they were really nice teachers. I was quite stress at first cause I'm like taking RGS, a "WOW" school in Singapore. But as soon as I got settle down, I felt quite relaxe.
Now, I will tell you why their attitude is simply great by giving this example.We went down to Hong Lim Park before proceeding to the market. Movement were kinda slow so I just had to tell them about being a leader like being initiative and having a better sense of urgency. After that, they improve so much that during the whole race, I DO NOT need to repeat to them again. If I'm taking a normal neighbourhood school, trust me,I will have to nag a few times at them.
Now is their culture, I told my group girls, HEY GIVE ME A CHEER OF YOUR OWN. and they did some signal and the rest of the school just stand and did a school cheer, I was very impress by that kind of spirit as well as the cheer. How I wish this was a 3 D 2N camp rather than just a day cause I do miss my bla bla girls.
Today,I also heard Coach Yvonne talked about some terms in life or the objective of RGS race which is to pay it forward. I kinda like that point is that when someone help or guide me. Rather than just paying back to him, I should pay it forward to others which can be more meaningful and Making someone happy is still someone so its still fulfilling an worth it. I thought about it and I FEEL I have to learn more to appreciate the beauty around me.
After that went Seoul Garden with about 20 over instructors to celebrate Val birthday, it was damn comical, we had like camp songs there and were loud. Nothing much to talk about here.
Conclusion for the day : Inspired by Coach Yvonne words, impressed by RGS spirit and culture and lastly, I will really miss the BLA BLA girls of Raffles Girls Secondary School :)
