Part 2 of my TripT Monday, December 31, 2007

On Christmas day, flew from Taipei to HongKong. Stayed in Harbour Plaza Resort City which is situated at a developing area, its like Sengkang estate actually but with shopping centre, nice food and cinema.

HK, I got nothing much to say, the people are rude, the way they reply you is like you owe them money. And people often knock on to you without apologising or a gesture of apology. Nothing and they are poor in Chinese as well as English, so Singaporean should feel Singapore is great when you are in HK.

Since we didnt like HK ,so day2 went to Macau, took a ferry there. It was about an hour or so ride. The immegration system was bad, people were cutting lanes and stuff and squeeze in at any possible place, so like a typical China citizen but not all are that, I met this HangZhou guy and he felt the system was bad and he was polite. A malaysian lady was standing behind and we chatted, and she too say that HK people are RUDE.

Went into Macau and the first thing we see was CASINO CASINO AND MORE CASINO , we took a free shuttlebus to Casino Grand LISBOA and was in the casino watching my DAD played roulette. Quite a nice experience I should say.

After some time ,we left for sight seeing looking at the fortress, cathedral and churches left before by the portugese when Macau was still under their control. Had pork cutlet bun and bought portugese egg tart, totally YUM YUM. Honestly, they are soo different from HongKonger.

If you ever compare people in Taipei and Hongkong generally, Taipei people are more polite and warm in attending to you. But its a general point of view, there are always the minority which are opposite of the majority.

My trip in Taiwan, Hongkong and MacauT Friday, December 28, 2007

20th December was the date I was looking forward to because I'm going to Taiwan and I can finally relaxe and with my HP not on auto-roam and wont be online at all, I have kinda rid myself of anyone in Singapore to contact me. Went for my trip with my family, relatives and friends as well so it was really nice.

Day1

Reach TaoYuan airport at about 5+ pm and there was some mis-communication between our 2 drivers,oh ya, we had 16 peeps so each mini van carry 8 of us and the 2nd one was delayed but it was not as bad because of the delay, I caught F.I.R just about 3 metres from me but didnt took photo because we were still delibrating on whether is it F.I.R and yes there are but there were to leave anyway. Quite not used to the time and the sky because the sky were like so dark at that time, it was just like being in Singapore at 8pm. Anyway, there is no time different between Singapore, Taipei, Hongkong and Macau.

After settling down at the our hotel, known as Cosmo Hotel aka Tian Cheng, we went to Xi Men and transportation were easy because taipei rail station was just beside the hotel and going to XiMen was just a few stops away. So went there and had our dinner, looking at pretty/cute girls and they had great milk tea, seriously, the one I had at XiMen was great, YUM YUM!!

Day2
Got on the train called "ZHI QIANG" to go to HuaLien, it was a 2 hours ride. Hualien is famous for its scenery as well as MoChi as that is their product. Hualien have the biggest tribal villagers but most dont live up the mountain anymore because alot were chased off during the Japanese Occuapation in Taiwan and there is a large amount of Gold there and that mountain is known as Taroko Moutain. Its a national park now. The scenery were simply excellent, the water, the wind and the craving of the moutains were just fantastic, all by the work of Mother Nature.

Lunch was great, I had this set meal call "When Wild Boar Met the Effiel Tower" dont ask me how they got that name but that was interesting. Food wasnt that bad either. After that, went and see the differnt scenery and there was a river and the water was so freaking pure and clean from afar, you can see the transparent water. Dinner was great too and went to get Mochi before heading back to Taipei.

Day3

Day3, Went to Dan Shui, took the red line all the way to the other end. It was beside the sea so naturally, the breeze was much cooler there. Had many nice food with quail eggs with anchovy, the long ice cream cone, Tako Cheese, prawn roll, metal eggs (direct translation) ,BBQ Squid, Ostrich meat as well.

After that, took a bus to Fisherman Wharf aka YU REN MA TOU. The bus was like turning like a F1 Bus. you really got to hold on to the pole provided if not, prepare to lose balance. First thing to see was the valentine bridge there, check out the sunset and chilling at a cafe with coffee.

Went to see the Ferris wheel in Taipei, got a nike shoe , they were having sales :P. Last activity of the day was to visit the famous Shi Lin Ye Shi which is a night market. Had great food there, egg oyster, coffin bread and the chickent cutlet was like 2 times of ours at the same price, I couldn;t finish that and shared with mom. Took a taxi back to hotel as it was past 12.30am, the add up was 200NT.

Day4

It's a simple day, went to Taipei 101 and its fastest life to the top from 5th-89th storey, its about the same time to take from level1-level7 in a HDB flat house here. The lift girl is very pretty and got a photo of her, taken by my brother, it's the first photo you can see below. The scenery up there was great and spend another 100NT to go all the way up, it was not enclosed so the wind was very big up there. And the view, nothing to say just AWESOME.

After went to WUFen pu where I got a belt and jeans before heading to check out some temple and visitng the shopping centre near our hotel. And went to ShiLin again and this time it was so much less crowded. Got a levis jeans there. And got a total of 3 jeans with my brother getting 2 and the 3 jeans in total cost less than 300SGD. It's real cause its an authorise dealer.

Day5.

Last full day I had in Taiwan. Quite Sad, cause I really love the place and the culture. But nevertheless, went up to Yang Ming Mountain to bath in hot spring before having lunch ther, it was a rainy day so it was real cold whenever you are not in the hotspring and we were naked but of cause there is a separation of male and female.

Left for Jiu Fen, it was raining and the clouds were dark, if not we will have a superb scenery again but the place was still nice and had ice cream roll or something, I know, I'm mad to have that on a cold day.

After that, left for JiLong Miao Kou and its food again and I was crazy enough to have Ice bendling sour plum and gluppling the my final sip and it was soooo freaking cold, should have see my expression, got some strawberry there.

Lastly, I'm back at ShiLin again cause my brother wanted to get the sweater he saw. So went to walk again. And that was how my Taiwan Trip ended.

Conclusion

Taiwan is a great country, I would really love to revisit the place. People are nice and considerate. People dont blast their music there loudly, I seen 0 incident of blasting music, they stand automatically to the right on escalator. The only thing I felt was their English, they use direct translation and they have to really strengthen their English cause some phrase, you just dont know how did they manage to dig that out.

This 1 week, no worries just pure enjoyment, been a long time since I felt this way, I just dont know what is wrong in Singapore, or rather what's wrong with me nowadays in my own homeland. Nothing seem right.

Anyway, I flew to HK after that, visted Macau as well, will up date on that again. Below are just a tiny bit of photo I snapped in Taipei, there are about 2 thousand photo,so those who wanna check it out, come find me instead. :P

Jeremy and Rendall

1st Dec
It's Ernest birthday, Met many more friends there like Jeff,Venn, Gab,Sam and Jane. These are people I feel so much comfortable to chat and hang out with but after they were enlisted, damn it like a part of me gone. Even I'm envy of the couple which I'm sure could have been me and Dix if I hadnt made the foolish decision. But still it great to be with them.

Jane Sam and Me :P

Went down to Jbac last saturday agian for Eunice birthday. As usual meet new instructors and saw many older ones like Patrick, Willie and others. It was nice. Played copycat too and was dead tiring cause I did stunt.
I guess things change. I realise that after being in CHA for some time. The way you behave and handle stuff change in a way. But that is not anything negative , could be positive too. But yea, waiting for next year :)
