Gan Eng Seng Primary School Leadership Camp
Primary 4,5 Leaders
29th-31st May
Day1
I guess chief kent started the camp by being a victim of his own implementation. He told us to reach by 7.15am with 10minutes buffer but he was late by a few minutes. So yeah ,the camp started out on a hilarous note. After that, went up to the hall and met the leaders.
Went to labrador Park adventure centre for the first time to put all our bags down before heading to sentosa for our amusing race. I guess its not as tiring as the amusing race we had in SJI with Dunman High. But due to the renovation of Sentosa, some place were closed so we had to just whack out some games for the student to play. Ended with sand castle bulding but somehow the sky decided to cry for whatever reason and we had to rush to the centre station where we had our campfire prep in the end, decided to do butterfly,the retro song since we dont ve time for any campfire prep unless it rain the next day.
Had kidnap at night and finished off 3rd even though we had numerous attempts.
2nd day
The primary 4 and 5 were separated into the primary 4 having the cross rope challenge while the primary5 had MLC in the morning and Gladiators later in the day. For MLC,somehow,my group had a score of 610, I didnt know how they count cause for some part of the game I was attending to regina who was knock by someone way biggest size than her. And after they told me the score, I cannot really believe but then again, I was not present so I had no reason to doubt them as well. Had jia hui crying too but her was much more minor but still another packet of tissue paper gone. Lucky I brought 4 packets.
Gladiators was up in the afternoon, and the team finish 2nd which I felt was quite good considering we start of with 20 student with the rest having about 4 or 5 more extra student. Then after dispersing our student, instructor had our own minor gladiators and the funniest part was when kelvin phua was trying to splash a pail of water at cherie as she was being chased by jeremy he but due to mis-calculation of timing, the water splash on to jeremy's face instead, this action immediately had all of us laughing like there is no tomorrow.
Ended 2nd night with campfire.
I find this particular group of student were quite well-behave,they didnt gave us that much problem and the place was relatively in a clean state.The student were also fun, they had also similar ideas when we started the malay tradition and also soccer cheer with the banging of the table,they will start to clap thier hand or shout EH EH EH EH AR EHE AR EH AR. It was really fun, like the whole school bringing down the place and of course the other group student were nice like the ah lians of jeremy group, my malay ah bang from xinyi group with our handshake.
I felt I had a great group of student, they started singing in the bus, they will clap their hand for something without being asked to do so and probably they are leaders, so their maturity way ahead of others even though they are leaders of different area. I can see they really appreciate what they are given as well because they ended with cheers by changing their team name to my name instead. Chief kent thought I taught them but it was them who came up with the idea.
My 2nd last camp, with my last being on the 2nd-4th which is tampines sec, its gonna be the last camp for alot of us,those going to NS and of cause to Andrew. I hope the final camp will be a blast with no hard feelings between instructors. I will blog my after feeling of everything after I finish camp.
